Michigan State quarterback Connor Cook is slightly limited by a nagging shoudler injury.
Cook said Wednesday he will be fully healthy for the College Football Playoff semifinals against Alabama.
“I’ve been pretty limited in practice, and I’m pretty much doing everything in practice now,” Cook said. “I’m pretty confident.”
Cook sprained his right shoulder a month ago, Nov. 14 against Maryland, and was not available the following week. Michigan State beat Ohio State to reach the Big Ten championship game in which Cook was able to play.
At 34-4, Cook owns the Michigan State record for wins at quarterback and needs 148 yards to overtake Kirk Cousins as the all-time leader in passing yards.
In an interview with 120 Sports on Wednesday, Cook said the Spartans are focused on controlling ball in the Cotton Bowl against the Crimson Tide.
“They’re a heavy run-oriented team, and I think what we need to do is we need control the football, we need to is try to beat them at their own game, hold on to the football, use our time wisely and make very few mistakes,” Cook said.
