The New York Jets are acquiring defensive end Shaq Lawson from the Houston Texans, multiple media outlets reported on Sunday.
Per reports, the Texans will receive the Jets’ sixth-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft in exchange.
The Texans acquired Lawson and a 2021 sixth-round pick from the Miami Dolphins on March 17 in exchange for linebacker Benardrick McKinney and a seventh-rounder in the same draft.
Lawson, 27, recorded 32 tackles, four sacks and a fumble recovery for a touchdown in 14 games (seven starts) with the Dolphins last season. He will play the second season of a three-year, $30 million contract in 2021.
Lawson has 140 tackles, 20.5 sacks and six forced fumbles in 64 career games (24 starts) with the Buffalo Bills (2016-19) and Dolphins. He was selected by the Bills with the 19th overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.
