TCU will be without wide receiver Josh Doctson for its final two regular-season games because of a wrist injury and quarterback Trevone Boykin remains questionable for Saturday’s Big 12 game at Oklahoma.
Coach Gary Patterson told reporters Wednesday that Doctson’s wrist injury is significant enough to keep him from playing in the No. 18 Horned Frogs’ final two regular-season games, but he could return for a bowl game.
Doctson, who has 79 catches for 1,327 yards and 14 touchdowns this season, was injured during Texas Tech’s Nov. 7 loss to Oklahoma State. The next week against Kansas, he attempted to play but had only one catch.
Earlier Wednesday, Doctson and Boykin were named two of 15 semifinalists for the Walter Camp Player of the Year Award.
Boykin, considered one of the early front-runners for the Heisman Trophy, suffered an ankle injury last week against Kansas and is listed as a game-time decision on Saturday for the matchup with No. 7 Oklahoma.
In 10 games this season, Boykin has passed for 3,427 yards with 29 touchdowns and nine interceptions and has rushed for 596 yards and eight touchdowns on 109 carries.
