SEPT 3 MOUNTAIN WEST OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: COLE McDONALD, HAWAII, Sophomore, Quarterback, La Mirada, California/Sonora HS…In a home-opening victory against Navy (59-41), completed 30-of-41 passes for 428 yards and six touchdowns…The six passing touchdowns are the most by a Mountain West quarterback since Nov. 14, 2015 (Fresno State’s Zack Greenlee), and the most by a Rainbow Warrior since 2013…The 59 points scored are the most by Hawai‘i since Dec. 4, 2010 vs. UNLV (59-21)…In the Rainbow Warriors’ Week 0 win at Colorado State, McDonald threw for 418 yards and three touchdowns, while rushing for 96 yards and two more scores…McDonald is the first MW signal-caller to throw for at least 400 yards in back-to-back games since Colorado State’s Garrett Grayson in 2014 (Sept. 6 & 13)…McDonald is the first UH student-athlete to earn MW Offensive Player of the Week honors. – Mountain West Football
