Chris Robison – Noteworthy
SEPT 10 CONFERENCE USA OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Florida Atlantic redshirt freshman QB Chris Robison led the Owls to a 33-27 victory over Air Force Saturday afternoon in the team’s home opener. Robison had a record-setting performance in just his second collegiate outing, going 33-of-40 for a school-record single-game completion percentage of .830. His 33 completions equated to a school record 471 passing yards and three touchdowns, with his longest pass being a 49-yarder to Jovon Durante. Despite Air Force stacking the box, Robison was sacked just once during the game. Robison would lead the Owls into the end zone twice in the second half and complete a two point play. The win marked the first time FAU had defeated an academy school in three attempts and extended the Owls’ home win streak to eight. – Conference USA Football
Rashad Smith – Noteworthy
SEPT 10 CONFERENCE USA DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Florida Atlantic junior LB Rashad Smith came through with a career-high 16 tackles in the win over Air Force, including one tackle for a loss of two yards. While his relentless work equated to 18 percent of the team’s total tackles, it was a critical late interception that sealed the game for the Owls. With Air Force at the FAU 46 yard line with less than 30 seconds to play and trailing by six points, Smith hauled in the team’s first interception of the 2018 season to seal the win in FAU’s home opener. – Conference USA Football
