Braves left fielder Marcell Ozuna left Atlanta’s Tuesday game at Boston after sustaining an apparent hand injury while diving into third base.
Ozuna was trying to take third base on an infield grounder to second base, but on his head-first dive toward the bag, his hand hit the foot of Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers at an awkward angle while he was tagged out.
Ozuna left the game accompanied by a trainer, with the hand covered by a towel. Ehire Adrianza replaced Ozuna in left field for Atlanta.
The team’s high-priced offseason acquisition, Ozuna hit an RBI single earlier in the third inning. He is batting .213 with seven homers and 26 RBIs.
