The Green Bay Packers activated wideout Allen Lazard off injured reserve on Tuesday.
Lazard missed the Packers’ last six games with a core-muscle injury that required surgery.
The team designated Lazard for return on Oct. 28, opening a 21-day practice window for the Packers to activate him. Wednesday was the deadline to activate the third-year player or have him be shut down for the rest of the season, by rule. Whether he’s actually ready to return this week against the Indianapolis Colts remains to be seen. Lazard did not practice last Friday.
Lazard takes one of the Packers’ two open roster spots with running back AJ Dillon and linebacker Krys Barnes still on COVID-19 reserve.
Lazard’s last game, in Week 3 against New Orleans, was a monster. With No. 1 wideout Davante Adams sidelined, Lazard caught six passes for 146 yards and a touchdown.
Lazard has 13 receptions for 254 yards and two touchdowns on the season.
