No. 5 Texas A&M paused practice activities Monday after two positive COVID-19 tests, Aggies coach Jimbo Fisher announced.
According to statements posted by the school on Twitter, one student-athlete and one student worker who were both on this weekend’s trip to South Carolina received positive tests on Sunday.
“Have retested the team and staff today, trying to prevent spread and keep them as safe as possible,” read one of the posts. “Will make accommodations based off testing results and contact tracing procedures.”
Texas A&M (5-1, 5-1 SEC) rolled to a 48-3 win against the Gamecocks on Saturday in Columbia, S.C. The Aggies are scheduled to play Tennessee (2-4, 2-4) this Saturday afternoon in Knoxville, Tenn.
