Philadelphia Eagles safety Marcus Epps tested positive for COVID-19, according to multiple reports on Thursday.
The Eagles confirmed a player tested positive, but the club didn’t reveal the identity.
“The Philadelphia Eagles received confirmation this morning that a player tested positive for COVID-19,” the team said in a statement. “The individual immediately went into self-isolation upon learning of his test result. We are following the NFL-NFLPA intensive protocols and remain in close communication with the league on this matter.”
The Eagles have a bye this weekend and the team said players are off Thursday through Sunday due to the break.
Epps, 24, has made 19 tackles in seven games (two starts) this season.
The second-year pro has played in 22 NFL games — eight with the Minnesota Vikings and 14 with the Eagles.
