Minnesota could be without its leading rusher for its biggest game in years on Saturday.

Coach Jerry Kill said Tuesday that running back David Cobb’s hamstring injury makes him “very questionable” for Saturday’s game at Minnesota.

The game will determine the Big Ten West Division championship. The winner advances to face East Division champion Ohio State in the Big Ten championship game on Dec. 6 in Indianapolis.

Cobb was injured in the fourth quarter of last week’s 28-24 victory at Nebraska.

The senior is No. 9 nationally in rushing yards with 1,430. If he is unable to play, the Gophers would turn to backup Berkley Edwards, who has run for just 140 yards this season. Quarterback Mitch Leidner is the team’s second leading rusher with 407 yards.

The game was expected to feature two of the nation’s backs with Cobb and Wisconsin’s Melvin Gordon, who has 2,109 yrads and 25 touchdown this season.
