The bat flip by budding San Diego Padres superstar Fernando Tatis Jr. on Thursday caught a lot of eyes.
Sure, the St. Louis Cardinals didn’t take too kindly to the view. After all, Tatis’ two-run shot in the seventh inning capped a two-homer performance in the Padres’ 11-9 win in Game 2 of their National League wild-card series. Tatis, 21, belted a three-run homer in the sixth inning.
Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, however, loved it — and he took to social media to share his feelings.
“The BAT FLIP by @tatis_jr,” Wilson wrote before emphasizing his thoughts with emojis — two laughing, one with eyes wide open and another that puts a hand over its mouth.
Wilson knows a thing or two about baseball. He was a fourth-round pick by the Colorado Rockies and played in the minor leagues for the franchise in 2010-11 before focusing on his football career.
Wilson hit .229 with five home runs, 19 stolen bases and 26 RBIs in two seasons in the Rockies’ farm system. He is listed as a second baseman by MLB.com.
