Jaguars LB Jacobs exits due to knee injury

Jacksonville linebacker Leon Jacobs was carted off the field with a right knee injury in the opening minutes of the Jaguars’ Thursday home game against the Miami Dolphins.

Jacobs was carted off with 11:13 remaining in the first quarter, and the Jaguars ruled him out for the game a short time later.

Jacobs was engaged at the line of scrimmage during a running play with Miami tight ends Adam Shaheen and Durham Smythe when the injury occurred. His right leg appeared to buckle and Smythe then fell on him, prompting Jacobs to fall awkwardly to the turf.

A 24-year-old Wisconsin product, Jacobs is in his third NFL season.
