PLAYERS TO WATCH
–QB Quentin Harris makes his first home start as a college player in the North Carolina Central game. He received solid reviews for his role as a starter for the first time in college in Saturday’s victory at Baylor.
–LB Joe Giles-Harris is a physical force and that’s something the Blue Devils continue to need. He posted two tackles for loss in each of the past two seasons against N.C. Central.
–S Dylan Singleton continues to be the most active of Duke’s defensive backs. He gained ACC Defensive Back of the Week recognition for the Baylor game. His efforts included seven tackles, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
–TE Daniel Helm could be a good outlet for QB Quentin Harris, particularly as the receiving corps look to gain consistency. The Blue Devils haven’t relied a lot on tight ends this season, but this game against N.C. Central ought to be a shot to give future opponents something to think about.
SERIES HISTORY: Duke leads N.C. Central 6-0, including a 60-7 rout last year. The Blue Devils have averaged 52 points per game in games against the Eagles.
QUOTE TO NOTE: “Definitely want to get the completion percentage up. But at the end of the day, it’s a team game. My individual stats don’t matter.” — QB Quentin Harris, who was 12-for-30 through the air in his first collegiate start when Duke won at Baylor.
