The Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday placed reliever Keone Kela on the 10-day injured list with right forearm tightness and put infielder Colin Moran on the seven-day concussion list.
Kela has no decisions and a 4.50 ERA in three appearances this season. He joined the team on Aug. 13 after testing positive for the coronavirus during summer camp.
Moran’s move was retroactive to Monday. He left Sunday’s game after a collision at third base.
Moran, 27, is batting .259 with six homers and 11 RBIs in 23 games this season. He has made 10 starts at designated hitter, eight at first base and four at third base.
In corresponding transactions, the team recalled right-hander Nick Mears and infielder Will Craig.
Craig, 25, was Pittsburgh’s first-round pick in 2016 but has yet to make his major league debut. He batted .249 with 23 homers and 78 RBIs in 131 games at Triple-A Indianapolis in 2019.
Mears, 23, has no decisions and a 5.40 ERA in three bullpen appearances this season. He made his MLB debut on Aug. 8.
