The Texas Rangers activated outfielder Danny Santana from the 10-day injured list prior to Sunday’s series finale against the Colorado Rockies in Denver.
Santana landed on the IL on Aug. 2, retroactive to July 30, with a right forearm strain.
Santana, 29, was 1-for-17 at the plate in four games before the injury. He batted .283 with 28 homers, 81 RBIs and 21 steals in 130 games last season.
To make room on the active 28-man roster, the Rangers placed left-handed reliever Brett Martin on the 10-day IL with inflammation of his left rotator cuff. The move is retroactive to Thursday.
Martin, 25, has a 1.93 ERA and no decisions in five bullpen appearances this season. He has four strikeouts and six walks in 4 2/3 innings.
