The Denver Broncos are closing their facility and stadium to all but a select group of employees for at least two weeks due to the coronavirus epidemic, the team announced Sunday.
According to the team, only “a small group of employees with critical operational roles” will be allowed in the building, with all others working from home.
According to 9News Denver, there will be six exceptions: general manager John Elway, director of player personnel Matt Russell, head coach Vic Fangio, vice president of football administration Rich Hurtado, one trainer and one IT staffer.
Assistant coaches and other personnel staff will be in regular contact from home, as free agency is expected to begin as scheduled at 4 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
The team also announced it will pay all part-time employees, hourly workers and interns based on their full schedule, including for any shift and event cancellations.
Many other teams across multiple sports have made similar commitments this week, with a large number of workers lacking hours due to the virus outbreak.
