Cincinnati Reds outfielder Jay Bruce is expected to miss three to four weeks with a partially torn meniscus in his left knee, ESPN.com reported Monday.

Bruce is reportedly having surgery this week. He was out of the lineup Sunday with knee soreness and replaced by Chris Heisey in right field and batted fourth. However, Bruce came off the bench as a pinch hitter in the seventh inning and struck out on three pitches.

Bruce is one of only three current major leaguers — joining Detroit Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera and Texas Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre — with at least 30 home runs in each of the last three seasons. In that span, Bruce has averaged 32 home runs and 101 RBIs per year.

The Reds are tied for 10th in the National League with 116 runs scored. Bruce, a two-time All-Star, is batting just .218 with three home runs and 14 RBIs in 29 games this season.

Fantasy Update: If you own Bruce, it would be wise to seek other options immediately.
