The Seattle Seahawks fear linebacker Mychal Kendricks suffered a torn ACL in Sunday night’s loss to the San Francisco 49ers, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Monday.
Kendricks was scheduled to have an MRI to confirm the initial diagnosis, per the report.
It’s a huge loss for the defense as Seattle prepares to face Kendricks’ former team in Philadelphia in a wild-card playoff game on Sunday.
Kendricks, 29, left in the third quarter of the 26-21 loss to San Francisco after making the tackle on a 49-yard reception by Kyle Juszczyk.
Kendricks posted 71 tackles, three sacks and one interception in 14 starts this season, his second year with the Seahawks.
A second-round pick in 2012, he spent his first six campaigns with Philadelphia and helped them defeat the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII.
In 103 career games (91 starts), Kendricks has 544 tackles, 19 sacks, seven forced fumbles and four interceptions.
