Report: Jaguars assistant lands CFL head coach job

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterbacks coach Scott Milanovich is returning to the CFL as the next head coach of the Edmonton Eskimos, TSN reported Thursday.

Milanovich, 46, has been with the Jaguars since 2017. It was unclear whether he will remain with Jacksonville for the remainder of the season.

Milanovich was head coach of the Toronto Argonauts from 2012-16, leading them to a win in the 100th Grey Cup in his first season. He compiled an overall record of 43-47.

His CFL experience also includes assistant coaching stints with the Calgary Stampeders (2003) and Montreal Alouettes (2007-11).

The Eskimos fired Jason Maas last month following an 8-10 season, which ended with a loss against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the East Division final.
