Wake Forest wide receiver Sage Surratt will have surgery for an undisclosed injury and miss the rest of the season, coach Dave Clawson told reporters Tuesday.
Surratt, a redshirt sophomore, left Saturday’s 36-17 loss at Virginia Tech in the second half after suffering what was termed as an upper-body injury.
He ranks fifth nationally with 1,001 receiving yards and has caught 11 touchdown passes. He leads the Atlantic Coast Conference in both categories and is the only player from a Power Five conference with more than 1,000 receiving yards.
The Demon Deacons (7-2, 3-2 ACC ) visit Clemson (10-0, 7-0) on Saturday.
