Report: Cowboys WR Cooper dealing with thigh bruise

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper has a thigh bruise that should not be a long-term issue, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Monday.

Cooper got up slowly after being tackled on a 3-yard catch less than three minutes into Sunday’s 24-22 loss to the New York Jets. He was targeted on the next play but did not appear at full strength going up for a sideline throw that fell incomplete.

Cooper did not return to the game and was said to be in significant pain.

The Cowboys (3-3) have lost three consecutive games heading into Sunday’s home game against the Philadelphia Eagles. It’s not known yet whether Cooper will be available. If not, he can get two weeks of rest because Dallas has a bye in Week 8.

Cooper, 25, has 33 catches for 515 yards and five touchdowns this season. The three-time Pro Bowl selection is in the final year of his contract after being acquired from the Oakland Raiders for a first-round pick midway through last season.
