Florida State starting linebacker Jaiden Lars-Woodbey will miss the remainder of the season with a leg injury, coach Willie Taggart announced Monday.
Lars-Woodbey was injured after colliding with a teammate in the third quarter of the Seminoles’ 35-24 win over Louisville on Saturday. The sophomore was removed from the field on a medical cart after having his left leg placed in an aircast.
Lars-Woodbey, who returned to the sideline in a wheelchair, recorded 19 tackles, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and a half-sack in four games for Florida State.
“Everything happens for a reason,” Lars-Woodbey posted on Twitter. “Just know that when one door closes for me, another one opens as well. I know my teammates are going to hold it down for me for the rest of this year and I can’t wait to be back with them soon!”
Emmett Rice, Jaleel McRae and Amari Gainer are expected to see more playing time at inside linebacker in place of Lars-Woodbey.
