The Milwaukee Brewers are calling up outfield prospect Trent Grisham to make his major league debut Thursday at Oakland, manager Craig Counsell told reporters Wednesday.
Grisham, 22, entered Wednesday with a .300/.407/.603 slash line, 26 homers, 71 RBIs and 12 steals in 97 games this season between Double-A San Antonio and Triple-A Biloxi.
He completed the cycle and went 5-for-5 with two homers and three RBIs in San Antonio’s 8-4 win over Sacramento on Tuesday night.
A first-round draft pick (15th overall) in 2015, Grisham is rated as Milwaukee’s No. 7 prospect according to MLB Pipeline.
Grisham could take over in left field with Ryan Braun moving to first base following Wednesday’s trade of Jesus Aguilar to the Tampa Bay Rays.
