Pirates acquire RH Ramirez from Orioles

The Pittsburgh Pirates have acquired right-hander Yefry Ramirez from the Baltimore Orioles in exchange for either a player to be named later or cash.

Ramirez, 25, will be assigned to Triple-A Indianapolis.

In a corresponding move, the Pirates designated RH Jesus Liranzo for assignment.

Ramirez joined the Orioles in a trade-deadline move with the New York Yankees in 2017. This season, he pitched in four games (one start), giving up eight earned runs in 10 1/3 innings for a 6.97 ERA and an 0-2 record.

With the Orioles, he appeared in 21 games (13 starts) and had a 1-10 record and 6.07 ERA.

Ramirez finishes his Orioles career with a 1-10 record and a 6.07 ERA in 21 appearances, including 13 starts.

The 24-year-old Liranzo was 0-2 with a 7.54 ERA and one save in 16 appearances this season at Indianapolis.
