Rockets G Harden (thigh) won’t face Nuggets

Houston Rockets star James Harden has been ruled out for Sunday’s road game against the Denver Nuggets due to a thigh injury.

Harden sustained a left thigh contusion when he was hit by Karl-Anthony Towns’ knee in the third quarter of Friday’s win against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

He was limping, but returned in the fourth quarter and finished with a season-low 12 points and five assists.

Rockets coach Mike D’Antoni said Harden is also doubtful for Monday’s road game against the Utah Jazz.

Harden, 30, is averaging a league-leading 36.1 points, 7.3 assists and 6.2 rebounds in 43 games this season.
