Atlanta Braves third baseman Adonis Garcia is expected to miss approximately two months after undergoing surgery to repair ligament damage in his left ring finger, the team announced Wednesday.

Garcia, who was placed on the 10-day disabled list on June 7, had surgery Monday after hurting his hand on a swing. The procedure was performed by Dr. Gary Lourie in Atlanta.

Garcia, 32, is in his third season with the Braves. He owns a .247 batting average with four home runs and 16 RBIs in 38 games this season.

Garcia made his major league debut with Atlanta in 2015 and has played in 230 games, posting a .269 batting average with 28 homers and 107 RBIs. He has averaged 20 home runs, 52 extra-base hits and 75 RBIs per 162 games played in his career.
