Golden State Warriors star guard Stephen Curry didn’t practice Sunday and is questionable for Game 2 after he rolled his right ankle in Saturday’s Western Conference first-round series opener against the Houston Rockets.

Golden State coach Steve Kerr said Curry was “doing a little better” on Sunday and will be monitored leading up to Monday’s contest.

“He’ll get treatment today, go get some rest, get off his feet, and we’ll do the same thing tomorrow at shootaround and see how he’s feeling,” Kerr told reporters. “We’ll assess whether there’s risk. If there is, we won’t play him.”

Shaun Livingston would start in Curry’s place if the reigning MVP is unable to play.

Curry had a game-high 24 points on Saturday, including 16 in the first quarter, before twisting his right ankle in the second quarter.

–Boston Celtics guard Avery Bradley is unlikely to play the rest of the first-round series against the Atlanta Hawks after suffering a right hamstring strain in Game 1.

Celtics head coach Brad Stevens said Sunday that Bradley underwent an MRI exam after being injured in the fourth quarter of Saturday night’s 102-101 loss in Atlanta.

“As of right now I would say he’s out Tuesday night (for Game 2), but obviously he’ll continue to get treatment around the clock and go from there,” Steven told reporters Sunday. “So I would say very unlikely the rest of the series.”

Stevens said Saturday that Bradley “heard a pop” after landing awkwardly while defending a layup attempt by Hawks guard Jeff Teague with seven minutes remaining.

–The Brooklyn Nets named Atlanta Hawks assistant Kenny Atkinson as the team’s new head coach.

Atkinson, 48, will become the 21st head coach in the franchise’s NBA history.

Atkinson will continue his duties with the Hawks until the conclusion of Atlanta’s postseason. He is in his fourth season with the Hawks.

Prior to that, Atkinson was an assistant coach for four seasons with the New York Knicks (2008-12), helping the team reach the postseason in 2011 and 2012. Atkinson also spent one season as the director of player development for the Houston Rockets (2007-08).
