Restaurant surveillance footage captured what appears to be the alleged road rage incident in New Orleans that ended with former Saints defensive end Will Smith fatally shot.

The video aired Tuesday on ABC’s “Good Morning America” and involves vehicles matching the descriptions of those driven by Smith and Cardell Hayes minutes before Smith was fatally shot on Saturday. A Mercedes SUV at 11:21 p.m. ET bumped the rear of a Hummer, the model of which isn’t entirely evident, around the intersection of Magazine Street and St. Andrew Street.

Two blocks away is the site at which Hayes, who was driving a Hummer H2, is accused of shooting and killing Smith around 11:30 p.m. ET. Smith was driving a Mercedes G63.

Hayes, 28, was arrested on a charge of second-degree murder. His bond was set at $1 million. Police said that the handgun used in the shooting has been recovered. Hayes did not enter a plea in his initial court appearance.

Police also said that a fully-loaded 9-millimeter handgun was found inside Smith’s vehicle.

—Josh Gordon’s bid to be reinstated to the NFL has been denied, according to cleveland.com.

The trouble receiver filed a petition to have his indefinite suspension lifted. He will be able to again apply on Aug. 1, according to the NFL.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the NFL will pause any current determination on Gordon’s status after the Cleveland Browns’ receiver had a urine sample flagged for being diluted or with a minor amount of marijuana present.

Gordon has been suspended three times for violations of the NFL policy on substances of abuse.

—Running back LeGarrette Blount re-signed with the New England Patriots to a one-year deal worth up to $2 million including incentives.

The Patriots also sign exclusive-rights free agents Justin Coleman, a cornerback, and Brandon King, a safety.

Blount, an unrestricted free agent, has signed three times with the Patriots. A chipped hip bone caused Blount to miss the final six games of last season, including the playoffs, but he scored six touchdowns.

—Free-agent cornerback Leon Hall remains unsigned and it was recently revealed that he underwent back surgery following the 2015 season.

Hall, a nine-year veteran, has spent his entire career with the Cincinnati Bengals. Cincinnati color analyst Dave Lapham told radio station WCKY that Hall underwent the procedure to repair a disk.

Hall, 31, has 26 career interceptions but hasn’t picked off more than two passes in a season since having four in 2010.

—Washington Redskins running back Silas Redd was suspended indefinitely without pay for a violation of the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse.

The league announced that Redd’s suspension will begin immediately. It is his second substance-abuse suspension in five months.

In November, Redd was suspended four games for the same reason. At that time, he was on injured reserve after suffering a season-ending ACL injury in an August preseason game.

—The Buffalo Bills agreed to terms with linebacker Lorenzo Alexander and safety Colt Anderson, the team announced.

Alexander, 32, has played nine NFL seasons and was a member of the Oakland Raiders last season.

Anderson, 30, spent the last two seasons with the Indianapolis Colts after spending his first four years with the Philadelphia Eagles.
