The New Orleans Saints and free agent running back Tim Hightower have agreed to terms on a new contract, according to reports Friday.
The two sides met last week and agreed to initial terms on a new deal, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reported.
Out of the league since 2011 after tearing his ACL that season, Hightower rushed for 375 yards and four touchdowns in eight games with the Saints in 2015.
Hightower, who will turn 30 in May, was cut twice by the Saints last season before being re-signed in the middle of the year as a late-season replacement for the injured Khiry Robinson.
Hightower has 619 career carries for 2,429 yards and 28 touchdowns in 61 games with the Arizona Cardinals, Washington Redskins and Saints.
