The New Orleans retained restricted tight end Josh Hill by matching the offer sheet Hill signed with the Chicago Bears earlier this week, the Saints announced Friday.

Hill played in 16 games last season and caught 16 passes for 120 yards and two touchdowns. He has been one of the Saints’ top special-teams players for several years.

The Saints would not have received compensation if they had not matched Chicago’s offer because Hill was undrafted and was tendered at the lowest level.

The Saints also signed fifth-year linebacker Craig Robertson to a three-year contract.

Robertson played in 12 games, including nine starts, for Cleveland last season. He was involved in 50 tackles in 2015 and also had an interception and a forced fumble. Robertson also plays on special teams.
