Denver Nuggets forward Danilo Gallinari has two torn ligaments in his injured right ankle.

The Nuggets disclosed Gallinari has torn anterior talofibular and calcaneofibular ligaments and a sprain of the deltoid ligament, the result of a third quarter injury Friday against the Dallas Mavericks on Friday night.

“It’s worse than the one I had just two months ago,” Gallinari said of the injury relative to the strain that caused him to miss six games in December.
With 22 games left in the regular season and the Nuggets outside the playoff picture in the West, it’s possible Gallinari will be shut down for the season. The team officially listed him as out indefinitely.

Gallinari is averaging a career-high 19.5 points and 5.3 rebounds in 53 games this season.
