
CLEVELAND — Reggie Jackson scored 23 points, and center Andre Drummond had 16 points and 15 rebounds as Detroit ended in its five-game losing streak with a surprising 96-88, road victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday night.
One night after New Orleans Pelicans forward Anthony Davis scored 59 points and grabbed 20 rebounds against them, the Pistons rebounded to beat the best team in the East and snap the Cavs’ five-game winning streak.
Pistons guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored 19 points, including a big steal from LeBron James and basket late in the game, while forward Tobias Harris scored 14 points and grabbed five rebounds in his first start with his new team.
James matched his season-low with 12 points and didn’t reach double figures until he made a pair of free throws with 6:50 left in the game, narrowly extending his streak to 695 consecutive games scoring in double figures.
Cavs guard Kyrie Irving scored 30 points after missing most of Sunday’s game with flu-like symptoms, and forward Kevin Love scored 24 points, including 14 in the fourth quarter.
Warriors 102, Hawks 92
ATLANTA — Backcourt mates Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson scored a combined 63 points for Golden State, which blew a 23-point lead but came back to get the win.
Curry finished with 36 points, eight assists and six rebounds, and Thompson scored 12 of his 27 points in the fourth quarter for Golden State (50-5).
Atlanta lost its third game in a row and fell for the fifth time in six games. The Hawks have lost four straight at home for the first time since 2007.
The Hawks were led by center Al Horford with 23 points and 16 rebounds.
Atlanta trailed 70-47 with 6:58 left in the third quarter. The Hawks rallied to take an 80-76 lead, but the Warriors responded with a 17-4 run that put the game away.
Raptors 122, Knicks 95
NEW YORK — Kyle Lowry recorded the eighth triple-double of his career, collecting 22 points, 11 assists and 11 rebounds to lead Toronto.
Lowry’s backcourt teammate DeMar DeRozen added 22 points and center Jonas Valanciunas contributed 20 points.
Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony registered his 18th double-double of the season, scoring 23 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Center Robin Lopez added 21 points and 13 rebounds and rookie forward Kristaps Porzingis netted 17 points.
New York has lost eight of its last nine games.
Timberwolves 124, Celtics 122
MINNEAPOLIS — The Timberwolves built double-digit leads in all four quarters, then hung on to win.
Boston guard Marcus Smart had a 3-point shot from 30 feet miss short off the rim at the final horn.
Rookie center Karl-Anthony Towns had 28 points and 13 rebounds, helping Minnesota snap a brief two-game losing streak.
Boston (33-25) lost for just the fourth time in its past 15 games but finished a three-game road trip against Northwest Division foes 1-2.
Heat 101, Pacers 93 (OT)
MIAMI — Center Hassan Whiteside came off the bench to provide 19 points and 18 rebounds, leading Miami to an overtime victory.
Miami also got 24 points, eight rebounds and five assists from point guard Goran Dragic.
Indiana forward Paul George had 31 points and 11 rebounds.
The Pacers could have won the game when guard Monta Ellis was fouled by Heat guard Dwyane Wade with 0.8 seconds left in the fourth quarter. Trailing 88-87, Ellis missed the first free throw before making the second, sending the game to overtime.
Bucks 108, Lakers 101
MILWAUKEE – Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo recorded a triple-double, with 27 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists. He added three steals and four blocks in 41 minutes.
Milwaukee has won four of its past five games.
Lakers guard Kobe Bryant shot 3-for-12 from the field but hit eight of nine free throws to finish with 15 points in 24 minutes.
Forward Nick Young scored 16 of his 19 points in the second half to lead the Lakers.
