Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah will be sidelined for at least two weeks after sprained his left shoulder on Monday night.
Bulls coach Fred Hoiberg told reporters on Tuesday that Noah will be re-evaluated in two weeks. He suffered the injury when he became tangled up with Nets cetner Andrea Bargnani during Chicago’s 105-102 loss to the Brooklyn Nets in the United Center.
Noah had been used off the bench this season and appeared to be starting to adjust to his role when the injury occurred. On Saturday against the New YorK Knicks, Noah scored a season-best 21 points and added 10 rebounds in 29 minutes.
In Monday’s loss, Noah had four points, eight rebounds and eight assists in 16 minutes before he was hurt.
The nine-year veteran is averaging a career-low 4.5 points per game and shooting 40.4 percent from the field this season.
Last season, Noah sat out 15 games with knee problems and also missed one game earlier this season against the Philadelphia 76ers because of knee soreness.
The Bulls have lost three straight games.
