The Pittsburgh Steelers listed Ben Roethlisberger as probable on the injury report for Sunday night’s game against the Indianapolis Colts.
Roethlisberger passed a concussion test Wednesday morning and has practiced this week with no setbacks. He was placed in the NFL’s concussion protocol after taking a hit in last Sunday’s 39-30 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
Roethlisberger on Wednesday said a team physician told him on the sideline against Seattle that he didn’t have a concussion. Coach Mike Tomlin later told reporters that Roethlisberger was in the protocol before being cleared.
Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier also is expected to play against the Colts after suffering a concussion at Seattle that prevented him from playing all but two defensive series. Shazier was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday but handled a full workout on Thursday and Friday.
Tight end Heath Miller is listed as questionable with a rib injury after missing the first two days of practice this week. Miller hasn’t missed a game since the 2013 season. Linebacker Sean Spence will miss Sunday’s game with a hamstring injury. Safeties Mike Mitchell (knee) and Will Allen (ankle) are listed as probable.
For the Colts, offensive tackle Anthony Castonzo (knee), wide receiver Phillip Dorsett (ankle), linebacker Jerrell Freeman (hamstring), quarterback Andrew Luck (abdomen/kidney) and offensive guard Hugh Thornton (elbow) are listed as out.
Dorsett did get back on the practice field Friday for the first time in a month, though it was limited.
Colts center Khaled Holmes (fibula) is listed as questionable. Safety Mike Adams (ankle/hamstring) and linebacker Erik Walden (heel) are listed as probable.
