The New York Giants will make a determination after Saturday morning’s workout on defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul’s status for Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Giants head coach Tom Coughlin said Friday that JPP has done everything asked by the team.

“We will not make a decision on JPP until tomorrow, but I’ve been pleased with what I’ve seen,” Coughlin said.

Since returning last week, Pierre-Paul has been focused and upbeat despite being constantly peppered with questions regarding his right hand, which is missing his index finger and part of his thumb as a result of the July 4 fireworks accident.

Pierre-Paul hasn’t officially been added to the 53-man roster as the Giants have a roster exemption through this weekend that allows him to practice with the team.

The Giants ruled out five players out for Sunday’s game, including linebacker Jon Beason. His ankle injury held him out of another week of practice.

Cornerback Prince Amukamara has a shoulder injury and was limited in practice this week, but he has not been cleared for game action.

Also ruled out were tight end Larry Donnell, linebacker J.T. Thomas and wide receiver Victor Cruz, who has not been cleared to return.

The Giants also listed linebacker Uani Unga, cornerback Leon McFadden and wide receiver Rueben Randle as questionable.
