Jazz pick up options on four players

The Utah Jazz picked up future options on four of their key young players, including the fourth-year option on point guard Trey Burke.

Utah also picked up the fourth-year option on center Rudy Gobert and picked up third-year options on guards Dante Exum and Rodney Hood.

The options on all four players are for the 2016-17 season.

Burke averaged 12.8 points and five assists over this first two seasons but lost his starting job during the 2014-15 season. The 7-foot-1 Gobert emerged as a shot-blocking force last season when he finished second in the NBA with 189 blocked shots while averaging 8.4 points and 9.5 rebounds.

Exum averaged 4.8 points while starting 41 games as a rookie but tore the ACL in his left knee in early August and isn’t expected back until late in the season. Hood averaged 8.7 points and started 21 games as a rookie.
