*Deionte Thompson – Noteworthy
One of Alabama’s top NFL draft prospects will have to sit out the NFL scouting combine. Deionte Thompson, one of the top safety prospects in this year’s NFL draft, tore a ligament in his wrist during his pre-draft training, underwent surgery Friday and won’t be able to go through drills at the combine, a source confirmed to AL.com. Thompson is expected to be in a brace for about 10 days. Recovery is expected to take six to eight weeks. A first-team All-American for the Crimson Tide last season, Thompson ranked second on the team with 79 tackles and also had a team-high four forced fumbles along with two interceptions. The Thompson news was first reported by NFL Network. – Birmingham News
