Free agent center Jason Smith signed a one-year deal with the Orlando Magic.
Smith played in all 82 games last season with the New York Knicks and started 31 starts, averaging 8.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. Smith scored in double figures 29 times and had 20-plus points twice, including a season-high 25 points on Feb. 11 at Orlando.
Smith was drafted 20th overall by the Miami Heat in the 2007 NBA Draft, Smith has appeared in 413 career NBA regular-season games (96 starts) with Philadelphia, New Orleans and New York.
