Brian Chaffin – Noteworthy
On a quiet signing day for Stanford football, center Brian Chaffin announced Wednesday he’s moving as a graduate transfer to Rice, where he’ll rejoin head coach Mike Bloomgren, the former Cardinal offensive line coach and offensive coordinator. Chaffin said he’ll use his fifth year to earn a master’s of business administration at the Houston school. “Thank you to God, my family, the Rice coaching staff, and my friends for making this possible!” he wrote on Twitter. “I am so excited for what the future holds! Go Owls!”
Chaffin played in 28 games in three seasons. In 2018, he played behind starter Jesse Burkett (who is graduating) and redshirt freshman Drew Dalman.
