The Toronto Raptors signed their first-round pick, guard Delon Wright, to a rookie contract Friday.
Wright is under contract through the 2016-17 season, with two team option years to follow. The Raptors selected Wright last week with the 20th overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft.
The 6-foot-5, 190-pound Wright was named the 2015 recipient of the Bob Cousy Award for the nation’s top point guard. A first-team All-Pac-12 and All-Pac-12 defensive team selection, Wright averaged 14.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 2.1 steals in 35 games last season at the University of Utah. As a junior, he contributed 15.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 2.5 steals in 33 games.
Wright will play in the Samsung NBA Summer League 2015 in Las Vegas. The Raptors will open the preliminary round of the tournament next Friday against the reigning Summer League champion Sacramento Kings at Thomas & Mack Center.
Wright is the brother of Portland Trail Blazers forward Dorell Wright.
