San Francisco 49ers player notes for Dec 24th, 2018


Dante Pettis – Important – Injury
WR Dante Pettis will not play Sunday against the Rams after suffering an MCL sprain in this past Sunday’s game against Chicago, coach Kyle Shanahan announced Monday. He finished his rookie season with 27 receptions, 467 receiving yards and five touchdowns in 12 games, including seven starts.

George Kittle – Important
TE George Kittle had seven receptions for 74 yards on Sunday. He has 1,228 receiving yards for the season, which ranks 11th in the NFL overall and second among tight ends, just 46 yards behind Kansas City’s Travis Kelce.

Jaquiski Tartt – Important – Injury – Transaction
S Jaquiski Tarrt (shoulder) was placed on reserve/injured by the 49ers Monday (Dec. 24). Originally selected by the 49ers in the second round (46th overall) of the 2015 draft, Tartt (6-1, 221) made starts in each of his eight appearances this season and registered 41 tackles, two passes defensed and one interception. He signed a two-year contract extension with the team on April 27.

Jeff Wilson Jr. – Noteworthy
RB Jeff Wilson Jr. was the 49ers leading rusher on Sunday, but he had just 27 yards on 11 carries.

Matt Breida – Important – Injury
RB Matt Breida will not play Sunday against the Rams after suffering an ankle injury this past Sunday against Chicago, coach Kyle Shanahan announced Monday. He finished his second NFL season with 814 rushing yards, 261 receiving yards and five touchdowns in 14 games, including 12 starts. He rushed for more than 100 in a game three times this season.
