Washington Redskins cornerback Bashaud Breeland reportedly has been suspended one game by the NFL that is related to his citation last summer for marijuana possession.

Breeland will be suspended for the Redskins’ season opener against the Miami Dolphins on Sept. 13, sources told Albert Breer of NFL Media on Friday.

Breeland, who was a fourth-round pick last year, started 15 games during his rookie season and had 67 tackles, two interceptions and two forced fumbles.

Breeland, 23, was cited for possession of marijuana in August 2014 on the campus of Virginia Commonwealth University. The incident took place the night before the Redskins left Richmond at the completion of training camp.
