The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed former New York Giants wide receiver Louis Murphy to a one-year contract on Wednesday.
The 26-year-old Murphy played in 14 games for the Giants last season, catching six passes for 37 yards and a touchdown.
A sixth-year pro from Florida, Murphy has played in 71 NFL games with 24 starts, catching 121 passes for 1,744 yards and eight touchdowns. In addition to the Giants, he has played for the Carolina Panthers (2012) and Oakland Raiders (2009-2011).
Murphy is a homegrown talent, having starred in football and track at Lakewood High School in St. Petersburg.
