Tampa Bay has re-signed wide receiver Jordan Shipley, the team announced Tuesday.

Shipley returns after the Buccaneers waived him Aug. 31. He was among the team’s final cuts in training camp.

To clear a roster spot, the Bucs released offensive lineman Derek Hardman.

Shipley, 26, landed with Tampa Bay on Aug. 20 after his release by Cincinnati. The third-year pro from Texas caught 52 passes for 600 yards and three touchdowns for the Bengals in 2010 but was sidelined last season with a torn ACL.

The Bucs were in need of a wide receiver after Preston Parker suffered a foot injury in their 41-34 loss to the New York Giants on Sunday.

Tampa Bay also added defensive end D.J. Bryant to the practice squad and released linebacker J.K. Schaffer.
