Wide receiver Sidney Rice is going to be with the Seattle Seahawks next year.

Rice, who was released by the team on Feb. 28 in a salary-cap move, agreed to terms on a one-year contract with the team.

After visiting the New York Jets on Wednesday, Rice confirmed on Twitter the deal with the Super Bowl champion Seahawks.

Rice was due to make $8.5 million in 2014 as part of a three-year, $41 million deal he signed with the Seahawks in 2011 before he was released. His salary under the new contract is expected to be far lower than the previous amount.

There were reports that the New York Giants, New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers also were interested in Rice — possibly expediting the Seahawks making the move to reach out of him.

After rehabbing from surgery on a torn ACL from the 2013 season, Rice was given clearance on Monday by Dr. James Andrews to resume football activities.

In three seasons with the Seahawks, Rice played in 33 games while battling knee problems. Last year, he had 15 receptions for 231 yards and three touchdowns before he suffered the knee injury.
