The San Francisco 49ers secured the services of offensive tackle Joe Staley through the 2019 season after signing him to a two-year contract extension Thursday.

No financial details were announced by the 49ers, but the 29-year-old Staley previously was signed through the 2017 season and scheduled to make $2.7 million in 2014.

The 6-foot-5, 315-pound Staley has played for the 49ers since he was drafted in the first round out of Central Michigan in 2007. He was named All-Pro the past three sesons and to the the Pro Bowl roster each of the past three years.

The durable Staley has started 98 regular-season and eight postseason games during his seven-year career.

“In today’s NFL, it is rare for a player to play his entire career with one team,” 49ers general manager Trent Baalke said. “With this extension, Joe will likely be a 49er for life.

“He is a three-time All-Pro and core member of our football team. His commitment and professionalism have been great assets to our team and our community. This extension reflects our philosophy of investing in our core players.”
