The San Diego Chargers agreed to a one-year contract with cornerback Richard Marshall on Friday, according to multiple reports.

Marshall adds depth to the Chargers’ secondary. They have six cornerbacks on their roster.

After signing with the Chargers last year, Marshall eventually took Derek Cox’s starting job late in the season. Marshall started five regular-season and both playoff games. During the regular season, he played 603 defensive snaps, finishing fourth on the team with 71 tackles, had six pass breakups and forced one fumble.

Marshall, 29, was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the second round in 2006. He signed with the Chargers after getting cut by the Miami Dolphins at the end of training camp.
