Aaron Hernandez was found guilty of first-degree murder in the 2013 murder of Odin Lloyd, which carries an automatic sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.
The unanimous jury verdict was turned over Wednesday morning. Hernandez was found guilty of all five gun-related charges.
Officers placed Hernandez, who immediately sat as the murder charge was announced by the jury foreperson, in handcuffs and shackles as the complete verdict was read. Sentencing was delayed 20 minutes at the request of the prosecution to allow for other members of the victim’s family to arrive at the courthouse.

Judge Susan Garsh reminded the jurors they are under no obligation to discuss the decision with media, “disclose what went on in the jury room.”
Hernandez was found guilty of murder, carrying a firearm without a license, two counts of carrying a large-capacity firearm, possession of ammunition without proper registration and possession of a firearm without registration.
Hernandez attorneys confessed he was at the scene of the crime but did not pull the trigger. Hernandez was convicted without the prosecution presenting a motive, witness and murder weapon.
