The Minnesota Vikings released running back Henry Josey, safety Ahmad Dixon, tight end Ryan Otten and offensive tackles Antonio Richardson and Austin Wentworth ahead of this weekend’s minicamp.

Josey was signed off the Jacksonville Jaguars’ practice squad before the 2014 season finale, but was not active for the game. He began his rookie season with the Philadelphia Eagles and rushed for 225 yards on 34 carries during the preseason, but does not have a carry during a regular-season game.

The Vikings now have six running backs on their roster.

Dixon was originally drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the seventh round (248th overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft and had two stints on the Vikings’ practice squad before being signed to the active roster Dec. 17.

Otten was signed to a reserve/future contract on Dec. 30 after he ended the 2014 season on the practice squad.

Richardson went undrafted out of the University of Tennessee on 2014, signed with the Vikings and spent last season on injured reserve. Wentworth was also signed as an undrafted rookie last year and was signed to the practice squad in September after failing to make the season-opening roster.
