The Minnesota Vikings and veteran cornerback Terence Newman reportedly agreed Thursday to terms of a one-year deal worth $2.5 million.

Newman, 36, is expected to sign the deal Friday, reuniting him with coach Mike Zimmer for the third time.

Newman, a first-round pick by the Dallas Cowboys in 2003, played in Zimmer’s defenses in Dallas (2002-2006) and Cincinnati (2012-2013).

Last season in Cincinnati, he recorded 72 tackles, 14 passes defensed and one interception.

Newman will join a Minnesota secondary that includes Xavier Rhodes, Captain Munnerlyn and Josh Robinson.
